Greetings, I got an update message in my Daminion Standalone program, clicked on the Download link and it took me to this page. I clicked on the Download Daminion Standalone and the file it started to download was DaminionStandaloneSetup-5.0.exe. Windows Home Server is based on Windows Server 2003. Drivers intended for Vista will not work. Windows Home Server can only be connected to a router by ethernet.
At first glance, the big difference between these CPU's is clock speed (about 10%) For a home server, that's not as important considering 90% of the time it's sitting idle. (In fact, it will be cheaper to run a slower, more efficient CPU on a machine that's on all the time).

The operating system was stable and robust, the Jan 08, 2015 · With that said, I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 on an HP MediaSmart 745 (remember those?! They were sold with Windows Home Server). I've got about 2.8TB of storage with Crashplan running backups to an external drive and online services. Streaming media is handled by Plex - which is flipping awesome. EDIT: Forgot to mention!
