Virtual Private Networking (VPN) gives the user a secure connection to the OSU network along with an on-campus IP address. Once the connection is established, the user will be connected to the OSU network through an encrypted tunnel.

Overview CU Boulder's VPN service provides a secure connection to the campus network from any location, as long as the device has an internet connection. The VPN can be used to access campus resources (e.g. library resources, file servers) or to securely browse the Internet. Virtual Private Networking (VPN) allows students, faculty and staff to securely connect to the campus network from anywhere in the world using their Illinois credentials, and access services and resources usually restricted to people on campus.
